The tires on a tractor-trailer must be rated to carry the weight of the vehicle

Bridge formula

Ontario uses a bridge formula to calculate the maximum allowable weight based on the distance between axles

Seasonal restrictions

Some jurisdictions have seasonal weight restrictions, especially during spring thaw
